The prime minister announced on Friday that the union government will repeal the three farm laws that were passed in Parliament in 2020, in response to protests by a section of the country's farmers. “Today, I have come to tell you, the whole country, that we have decided to withdraw all three agricultural laws. As part of the parliamentary session starting later this month, we will complete the constitutional process to repeal these three agricultural laws," Prime Minister Najib Razak said during a televised address
Air quality in New Delhi remains poor; mercury dipped to 10.5°C

Delhi's air quality was classified as "very poor" on Friday morning, as overcast weather was forecasted in the city while the minimum temperature was likely to be 12 degrees Celsius. The Air Quality Index (AQI) at 7 am was 369 according to the Central Pollution Control Board. In general, AQI ratings between zero and 50 are considered "good", 51 to 100 "satisfactory", 101 to 200 "moderate", 201 to 300 "poor", 301 to 400 "very poor", and 401 to 500 "severe".
Gopal Rai says 69% air pollution due to sources outside the city

Gopal Rai, Delhi's environment minister, urged his counterpart in the Union government to hold a meeting to formulate a joint action plan to deal with the pollution sources in the National Capital Region (NCR) that are impacting Delhi. The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) analysis of the period between October 24 and November 8 found that local sources were responsible for only 31% of the pollution load in Delhi, while the remaining 69% came from the NCR. 
Air quality in Delhi improves in the index, remains poor

The Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB's) daily bulletin shows Delhi's air quality lifting into the lower half of the "very poor" category as a change in wind direction reduced the contributions of stubble burning to 2%, according to weather officials. According to the AQI on Wednesday, it was 375 (also extremely poor). Despite the south-easterly winds that will reduce stubble burning in the next 48 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that mercury will rise by Friday with a minimum temperature reaching 12 degrees Celsius.
Complaints: Delhi assembly panel to Facebook

The Delhi Assembly's committee on peace and harmony, which is investigating the February 2020 riots in northeast Delhi, began asking Facebook India on Thursday for clarifications and information on how it has curbed and taken down inflammatory content and fake news in the country. According to Facebook, India accounts for almost 40% of its user base globally, and the committee sought to determine whether Facebook has the organizational capacity to handle and gate-keep such large volumes of content.
