The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador is the definition of a
hypercar, with a raging 769-hp V-12 engine and a unique
appearance. Its scissor doors, wide and low proportions, and
extensively vented bodywork make it a show-stopper.
The Aventador starts pulling at 1000rpm as if that's what it
was made for, and then simply keeps going and going, gradually
increasing its need and sharpening its sound until it reaches a
shrieking crescendo just on the other side of its 8250rpm
power peak.
Every Aventador has a set of scissor doors that swing open, as
is typical of Lamborghini. Although the low-slung inside is
showing its age, it may be upgraded with a selection of high-end
materials and customised options. Small goods will not fit in
the cabin, and luggage capacity is limited.
As speeds increase, the ride smooths out, but the symptoms of
a car with spring rates more suited to the track than the road
persist, especially in the wet. In slow bends, the car has a
tendency to understeer, which is exacerbated by what appears
to be a tight rear differential. However, even when all four
wheels are pulling, traction remains excellent.
