RBI to broaden the scope of digital currency in banknotes THE Daily Episode Network RBI has proposed amendments to the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 that would allow it to launch a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). In the current Parliament session, the government is planning to introduce a Bill on cryptocurrencies that seeks to prohibit "all private cryptocurrencies in India", with "certain exceptions".
